Chasing the Wrong Goals? 3 Signs It’s Time for a Goal Glow-Up

February 12, 20252 min read

We talk a lot about setting goals—big ones, small ones, SMART ones, vision-board-worthy ones. But let me ask you a question:

Are you actually in love with your goals?

Not just in like with them… not just committed to them… but truly, deeply in love?

When Your Goals Feel Like a Bad Relationship

Sometimes, we set goals because we feel like we should. Maybe they look good on paper. Maybe they impress other people. Maybe they were the logical “next step.”

But if you’ve ever found yourself dragging through your goals, avoiding them, or feeling completely unmotivated, you might be in a toxic relationship with them. You know the kind—the ones that sound good in theory but just don’t feel right.

A goal you love should excite you. It should light you up, even if it’s challenging. It should feel aligned with who you are and where you truly want to go.

Are You Pursuing the Right Goals?

Take a second and think about the goals you’re working toward right now. Ask yourself:

💭 Does this goal still inspire me? (Or does it just feel like another chore?)
💭 Do I feel energized when I think about achieving it? (Or do I feel drained?)
💭 Am I doing this for ME? (Or is it because I think I should?)

If your goals feel heavy, it might be time to re-evaluate. Sometimes, we outgrow them. Sometimes, we set them from a place of fear or comparison instead of genuine passion. And sometimes, we just need to tweak them to make them ours again.

Falling Back in Love with Your Goals

If you’re realizing that you and your goals need a little relationship counseling, don’t worry—here’s how to reignite the spark:

❤️ Reconnect with your “why.” What made you set this goal in the first place? Does it still align with your bigger vision?
❤️ Make it fun. Can you find ways to make the journey more enjoyable? Sometimes, we take our goals way too seriously.
❤️ Give yourself permission to pivot. It’s okay to change your mind. It’s okay to shift directions. Growth isn’t linear, and neither is success.

The Bottom Line

You deserve goals that fuel you—not ones that drain you.

So today, take a moment to check in: Are you really in love with the goals you’re chasing? Or is it time to let some go and make space for the ones that truly set your soul on fire?

Drop a comment below and let me know—are you in a healthy relationship with your goals, or is it time for a goal glow-up? 💖✨
