Let’s be real: burnout isn’t a buzzword — it’s a lived experience for so many women, especially the ones doing all the things. If you're juggling motherhood, business, relationships, caregiving, and maybe even a secret meltdown in the bathroom (just me?), this post is for you.
What’s an Anchor Box?
My latest guest, Courage Coach Cindy Brockway, introduced a beautiful idea called an Anchor Box — a physical or digital collection of sensory items and affirmations that helps you calm your nervous system, especially when you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or triggered.
Think of it as your emotional first aid kit.
It could include:
A calming scent (lavender roller or essential oil)
A favorite scripture or affirmation card
A soft piece of fabric or something comforting to touch
A playlist that grounds you
A journal prompt or prayer
Even a picture of someone you love
Why It Works:
These items help you anchor to the present moment — instead of spiraling into overthinking or panic. It’s quick, powerful, and totally customizable. Cindy uses it with her clients, her daughter, and even when she needs to “reset” after a long day.
Confidence vs. Courage:
We also explored the difference between confidence and courage — and it hit me hard. Confidence is the result; courage is the choice. You don’t need to feel ready. You just need to be willing. Women often wait until they “feel” ready. But growth happens in the willing.
Takeaways for the Hey Girl You Can Squad:
You’re allowed to need a reset.
You’re allowed to choose courage before confidence.
You’re allowed to build tools that help you feel steady when the world feels shaky.
