You’re Not Lazy — You Just Need Clarity

June 12, 20253 min read

There was a season in my life where I thought I was lazy.
Not out loud — but quietly, in my head.
I was showing up, working, leading… and still, I felt like I was dragging myself through the day.

I was rebuilding after a really hard chapter.
Burnout.
Cancer.
Divorce.
And even when I was “back to work” and doing all the things, something still felt off.

I’d stay up late scrolling.
I’d check boxes just to say I finished them.
And I was tired — but not in the physical way. The soul-deep, “I’m doing everything and still feel stuck” kind of tired.

And for a while, I labeled that as laziness.

But I was wrong.

What I was really experiencing was a lack of clarity.

Why Clarity Matters More Than Hustle

We live in a culture that tells us to push harder, try harder, work harder.
But when you’re not clear on what you want, why you want it, or who you are right now… no amount of motivation can help.

Motivation fades.
Grit burns out.
But clarity?
Clarity gives you momentum.

The 3 Clarity Blocks That Keep Women Stuck

In my recent live, I talked about 3 core reasons high-achieving women stay in cycles of frustration and burnout — even when they’re trying so hard to make progress.

1. You’re chasing the wrong “why.”

Sometimes, the goals we’re working toward aren’t even ours anymore.
We’re chasing what we used to want, or what someone told us we should want.
But if the dream is outdated, the work will always feel heavy.

Ask yourself: “What do I want because I want it — not because I was told I should?”

2. You’re avoiding the truth of where you are.

We don’t want to admit that we’re unfulfilled or that something’s not working.
So we say “I’m fine,” overwork ourselves, stay in roles or relationships we’ve outgrown, and avoid asking the hard questions.

Try this: “What am I pretending is working… that actually isn’t?”

3. You’ve stopped trusting yourself.

You ask everyone else for advice. You second-guess your intuition.
You outsource your decisions — and call it wisdom.

But deep down, you might just be scared to trust yourself again.

Reflect on this: “What would I do today if I fully trusted my voice?”

A Final Word

If any of this feels like you, you’re not behind.
You’re not broken.
And no — you’re not lazy.

You’re just evolving.
And that’s a beautiful thing to honor.

Want to go deeper into this kind of work? That’s what we do in Reclaim My Power Day.
It’s a one-day reset where we get real about where you are, reconnect to what you want now, and build a plan that actually feels aligned.

Stop calling yourself lazy.
You deserve clarity. You deserve peace.
